WTF?

I just saw this on Google and thought I'd throw it out there. This mentality is one of the major problems with this country. Training our kids to think this way is going to screw us completely in the future. School seeks to forfeit 100-0 win.

Competion is a good thing but at what point is the blow out called! to apologize for a victory not sure about that one!

This whole argument isn't about competition or even victory. It's about teaching our children bigger lessons of life. Great example he set, what a putz.

In scholastic athletics they tend to have something of a mercy rule. They generally try to not let anyone get stomped too bad because it is just sad. Kids don't need to get destroyed like that. Without Monday morning quarterbacking the coach it probably should not have gone down that way.

Kids get the lesson of how they lost when it is 0-59 at the buzzer. Sort of like the difference between getting knocked down in a fight and knocked down and then kicked in the face.

It's just a game. Nothing to see here, go home.

Just ridiculous, why people in this country feel the need to apologize for doing good I will never understand.

actually DO something esteem-worthy before worrying about getting your precious 'self-esteem' damaged...

...so let's lower the standards

want to protect your kids, put the damn school in a different division!

I mean FOUR YEARS winless, give me a fookin' break!

what about the kids on the actual GOOD team that might be trying to get basketball scholarships? I'm sure the scouts weren't bothering with THAT game, but are you going to hamstring talented players MENTALLY... with a mind-set that says they shouldn't perform at their FULL potential, ALWAYS? THAT attitude will sure allow them to succeed in whatever they try to accomplish in life.

if ANY team should retroactively forfeit it is the team that SUCKS, they fail... @ life
